Full Details for 9 Bedroom Detached for sale in Dover, CT15 :
Steeped in history Farthingales is a truly stunning homestead adjacent to the 900 year old church in the charming village of Nonington. Surrounded by an acre of very attractive gardens are three separate residences comprising in total nine bedrooms each with en suite facilities. The principal building is an Elizabethan Hall House with all the wonderful features derived from that bygone era, including historic beamed ceilings, fireplaces with wood burning stoves and mullioned windows. At right angles is a two storey weatherboard and glass extension that was previously the village shop but was originally built in Victorian times as the local drapers. In addition you will find a simply awesome oak framed barn that has been beautifully restored and is now an extremely high end holiday let as well as the stable block that has been converted into a charming self-contained two bedroom single storey dwelling and is presently home to the owner’s parents. Also within the grounds an immense double garage, a veritable barn of a building incorporating two integral loose boxes and a 475sq ft first floor which subject to planning could be put to a variety of uses. Whether you are looking for a small country estate complex where you can provide wonderful homes for an extended family or you would like to continue a lucrative business, this property could provide the answer. It is currently being run as an excellent bed and breakfast as well as the barn holiday let and the accounts show the existing business could service a substantial mortgage in its own right – thus reducing the potential capital outlay. Indeed, the stable block bungalow could also be incorporated as another holiday let, thereby increasing the income potential even further. To read more about this fantastic property click the brochure link below.
“We saw the property mentioned in a newspaper about nine years ago and immediately went to look at it. We fell in love with the homestead and bought it virtually ‘on the spot’ and have thoroughly enjoyed developing the property and running the bed and breakfast and holiday let business for the past few years. It has been a delight to bring individual ideas to running a bed and breakfast, such as putting TV earphones in the bedrooms so other guests are not disturbed. Sadly, family commitments mean that we have to change direction but we hope that new owners will love the place as much as we have done. One of our great pleasures has been the gardens where we spend a great deal of time. Nonington is a pleasant and friendly village nestling in the middle of the Kent countryside with the local Royal Oak pub being a focal point. The village hall provides plenty of activities including badminton, table tennis and toddler groups and there are also bridlepaths and wonderful country walks around the village – you can even try one of the guided walks organised by members of the parish council. At the same time we are not far from Canterbury with its historic buildings, high-street stores and individual shops as well as excellent restaurants, theatres, schools and universities – and it is less than an hour to London from Canterbury West station to St. Pancras.”
