The property cannot be seen from the highway. The house was built by Colonel H Watson in c1891. During the 1920s it was owned by Stuart Martin who is said to have altered the service range and may also have been responsible for adding the veranda to the garden front. The current owners have lived at the property for 58 years. The Tudor-style country house has two storeys and a large attic. It is built of coursed rock-faced stone under a slate roof with mullioned windows which have leaded lights and sashes, some of which have been replaced. The stone gable-fronted elevation facing the drive is very impressive with the entrance under a shallow segmental arch with ornate gargoyles. A semi-circular paved skirt leads from the drive up to an enclosed porch with the original architraves, leading to the broad original front door with stained and leaded glass to central panels with gothic arched heads.
