Full Details for 6 Bedroom Detached for sale in Dover, CT16 :
Virtually hidden from the road down the end of a quiet private lane, this attractive 1970s detached family home has been sensitively extended and upgraded by the owners to provide an impressive, six-bedroom family home. The hub of this spacious property is undoubtedly the large and well-proportioned kitchen/breakfast room that was revamped about two years ago and where all the family congregate. It is a joy if you love catering as it includes a wide range of very modern units, a lovely range cooker, two integrated fridges and a dishwasher as well as a couple of large storage cupboards. It is adjacent to the sizeable utility room and large dining room which has been designed for great family celebrations and supper parties. The elegant lounge with its attractive fireplace and direct access to the conservatory provides a real ‘wow’ factor from the moment you walk in, while looking out to the vast terrace beyond the conservatory immediately makes you think of inviting friends and family over for a barbecue. There are some delightful specimen trees and shrubs giving the outdoor area an interesting ambience and the rest of the large, flat garden is ideal for kids to play in. Some of the existing playground items are available if required and there is also a summer house and useful storage sheds. Upstairs in the extension, there are two double bedrooms, incorporating the master with built-in wardrobes and a large en suite bathroom as well as a separate family shower room. In the original part of the house you will find four good-sized bedrooms including one with an en suite shower as well as the family bathroom – so there will never be a queue to get ready in the mornings.
We have lived here for 13 years and have enjoyed extending and revamping the property but we feel it is time to start a new chapter in our lives. We redesigned the house for both family life and entertaining and it has always been the focal point for birthday parties, anniversary celebrations and Christmas get-togethers. We even had our own wedding here, with photos under the beautiful weeping willow tree. In fact, we love to spend our time outside in the garden and have created a special environment for both children and adults. Although we are in a very private, secure and tranquil spot we are also close to the centre of the village. Whitfield is a very friendly place and we can walk to the primary school or even to the local pub in less than five minutes, while there are regular buses to the secondary schools in Dover and Canterbury. The village shop is very convenient and provides for most essentials while the parish council organises a variety of annual events that everyone can join in and there are even activities arranged for the kids on the village green. To enhance the rural atmosphere even further there is a weekly farmers’ market where you can purchase a wide variety of local produce. At the same time we are only a minute from the main A2 for Canterbury and London as well as Tesco’s and other retail stores. In fact, we have the best of all worlds, being adjacent to the countryside yet only five minutes to the coast and Dover for immediate access to the Continent.
