The village of Newton upon Rawcliffe, aside the North York Moors, lies some 4 miles to the north of Pickering. The Old Vicarage, dating from the second half of the 19th Century, is a traditional Victorian house which has been beautifully maintained and improved by the present owners.  In addition, the incorporation of adjacent buildings to a downstairs bedroom suite and separate self contained cottage has created additional living space and transformed the original into a truly exceptional family home.  The house is supported by some 4 acres of wonderful formal gardens and fields which provide a superb setting, as well as providing valuable amenity land, useable in a variety of ways.

Outside
The long gravelled drive sweeps past the St John parish church and divides by the house, leading to a parking area and garage at the front and the cottage and further parking at the rear. The drive also provides easy access to the ajoining fields which lie to the south and east of the house. From the rear of the house is a flagged terrace, ideal for al fresco dining. The gardens are divided by a central walkway; there are well stocked borders that give an amazing array of colour all year round. Plants include copper hazels, hostas, iris and lupins. The garden is sheltered by mature hedging and to the rear a canopy of mature tress, including beech, elm and copper beech. The remaining land is divided into 2 fields amounting to some 4 acres in total.
