Full Details for 5 Bedroom Detached for sale in Dover, CT15 :
Tucked away up a drive off a country lane in Shepherdswell, this delightful detached family home is just waiting for a new family to enjoy everything it has to offer. Surrounded by magnificent trees in the midst of a large garden, this property has something for everyone. The gorgeous garden, with its mature plantings, redcurrant and raspberry bushes and specimen trees, is a haven for wildlife such as pheasants, squirrels and many other birds and is somewhere everyone will want to spend time. With a little TLC the swimming pool could be brought back into full working order and the grass tennis court could be reinstated for energetic family members wanting to practice their Wimbledon strokes, while the stepped terrace is ideal if you want to host a barbecue or just sit and relax in the sunshine and just listen to the birds. The house has been beautifully looked after and is in wonderful decorative order. The well fitted kitchen/breakfast room includes a useful breakfast bar and utility room and is next door to the attractive dining room with double glazed doors to the garden presenting a delightful vista for visitors and family alike. While the light and airy lounge, with its log burning fire, is just the place to enjoy a coffee with your friends. In addition, there is a cosy snug where the family can relax in front of the TV, read a book or listen to music. If you want to run your business from home there is also a self-contained office suite incorporating two good-sized rooms with an adjacent shower room and separate entrance for clients and business visitors. Alternatively, this area could easily become a granny annex for an elderly relative. Off the spacious landing you will find four double bedrooms, a large single and two modern bathrooms. But you will never have to queue for the bathroom as there is yet another shower room on the ground floor. For enthusiastic petrolheads there is a large double garage and plenty of off-road parking on the drive.
We chose the area because we love trees and, apart from the trees in our garden, beyond our property there are ancient woodlands with tree preservation orders and, in May, the carpet of bluebells underneath is amazing. We are in the midst of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and have wonderful views across the countryside. We will be sad to leave this house after living here for so long but we feel it is time to downsize and move nearer our family. Shepherdswell is a friendly village and the primary school has an excellent reputation. The village has plenty of facilities such as the local Co-op for all your immediate needs and the post office with its ‘farmer’s market’ style shop selling a variety of local produce. There are also activities in the village hall, such as a toddler playgroup and a dance school and, if you enjoy walking or riding, there are a number of footpaths and bridleways. You will also find the ‘Spartans’ football club, a cricket team, a couple of excellent pubs and the East Kent Heritage Railway that operates vintage trains between Sheperdswell and Eythorne. You are not far from some excellent golf courses including the world renowned St. George’s at Sandwich and its near neighbour – the Princes golf club. There is also a main-line station you can walk to for Dover or Canterbury, Faversham and London and regular bus services to the surrounding towns and villages.
