CHULMLEIGH is a small but busy town set in the heart of rural Devon. It is the centre for an active and friendly community and offers a good range of local shops including bakery, dairy, newsagent etc, along with a primary and secondary school / community college, health centre, dentist post office, bank, churches, library, three public houses, two restaurants and a short 18 hole golf course. The market town of South Molton to the north and Crediton to the south both offer a more comprehensive range of facilities and the local railway station at Eggesford, 2 miles, provides a rail link between Exeter and Barnstaple. Road link is via the A377 or the North Devon link road, which can be easily accessed at South Molton.
DIRECTIONS From Crediton, proceed on the A377 towards Barnstaple, passing through Copplestone and Lapford. At Leigh Cross, take a right turn signed to Chulmleigh and proceed up the hill into the town. On reaching Red Lion Corner, turn right then almost immediately right again into New Street. There is a free parking area on the right and on the far left next to the church, a short set of steps and a path lead to the Square and Rock Hill Cottage is on the left. Please note that the property can be approached from Fore Street without the need to use the steps.
