Introduction: Providing accommodation on a grand scale with great elegance and striking décor, this superb four-star Guest House represents an excellent opportunity as a business, an investment or a fine Victorian house. Situated on the Northern fringe of the Cinque Port town of Dover and with easy access from the A2 motorway the current owners have taken great care over the years to present a Guest House that is welcoming to its guests and provides elegant reception and dining rooms along with stylish boutique bedrooms.

Internal Description: The tall and imposing elevations of the house are beautifully symmetrical with classical detail and tall sash windows. Inside the house impresses with tall ceilings and striking fireplaces extending from a central hall to three large reception rooms and an up to the minute fitted Kitchen with contemporary cabinets and wide 'butcher block' working surfaces. Off the Kitchen leads a Victorian style conservatory with views over the garden which is an easily maintained arrangement of shingle beds and flagstone patio areas.

Guest Rooms: The bedrooms over the first and second floor are approached over a gently rising oak staircase with it own side entrance for independent guest access and leading to a wide landing area. There are five rooms of double and triple size to the first floor, three with private shower rooms and two with use of a modern shower room. The second floor provides a further four bedrooms, all of comfortable double size with good ceiling heights and each with its own shower room.

Owners Accommodation: On the lower ground floor is a self contained owners quarters with a laundry room, bedroom and en-suite bathroom. Given the size and standard of this well-dressed property, there is a great deal to recommend it.

Dover and its History: Evidence of Dover being a strategically important coastal town dates to the bronze age. From 55BC it became a thriving Roman port and by the 10th century was a prosperous cross-channel trading town. After the Norman conquest the castle was enlarged to improve defences and in 1050 Dover became a Cinque Port. Through the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries it became a heavily defended garrison town and through two world wars became one of the most important military centres in Britain. More recently Dover attracts huge visitors with cruise line terminals and modern car ferry services to Europe. With its impressive history and immense tourist traffic, Dover is a busy and popular location for attracting guests.
