A NOTE FROM THE PRESENT TENANTS
The population of Weir Estate is a mix of families and `young professionals`. We have lived here since September 2012 and have had no issues with any of the neighbours, no noise complaints about us or them ). The buildings and grass areas are well maintained.
As four girls in our mid-twenties, none of us have had problems walking home at night (or day) and feel safe in the area. The grass that the lounge looks out on is very nice in the summer and gets the sun all day. Or Clapham Common and Tooting Common are both about a ten minute walk.
Supermarkets - Londis on Poynders Road (5 mins walk). Sainsbury`s local next to Clapham South and on King`s avenue (both 10 mins), big Sainsburys and Waitrose at Balham (15 mins). Also a big Sainsbury`s at Clapham Common and a Tesco and Lidl on Acre Lane on the way to Brixton.
Nearest tube Clapham South (Northern line, zone 2) 10-12 min walk
Walking distance to Balham and Clapham high streets. Brixton is approx. 30 mins walk
Buses 155 from Balham hill (<10 mins walk to stop) goes to Clapham Common and onwards to Elephant and Castle. At night the N155 runs from Charing Cross.
137 from Atkins road/King`s Avenue (<10 mins walk to stop) goes to Clapham Common and then on to Sloane Sq and Oxford Street (24hr bus route)
355 from Poynders Road/Clarence Avenue (5 mins walk to stop) goes to Brixton station
