Mid Market Rent housing is designed to assist households that are unlikely to be successfully housed by the council or a housing association due to the pressures on the housing supply. The rents that apply for mid market rent properties are higher than social rent properties but are set below those in the private market to make them affordable.
Applicants applying for a mid market property will be considered subject to one or more of the following-
You should have sufficient income to allow you to pay the rent without the need to apply for Housing Benefit.
You should normally have a regular income.
You should be on gross income(s) of not normally higher than £37,000 per annum.
