Full Details for 2 Bedroom Flat to rent in Lewisham, SE13 :
What our landlord says (who has lived in the property)
What I love about the flat?
I absolutely love the Victorian fireplaces in the living room and bedroom, and the large sash windows that let so much light into the living room. It's a very airy, spacious flat with a good sized (recently modernised) bathroom and a kitchen that's large enough to accommodate a table and chairs. The private garden is accessed by enclosed stairs at the back of the property and is perfect for barbecues in the summer!
What I love about the Area?
Hither Green is SE London's best kept secret! The Victorian terraces and Georgian style mansion houses are gorgeous, and part of it the locality is a conservation area. There are a fair few independent cafes springing up (You Don't Bring Me Flowers - a quirky cafe/ florist, Rhubarb & Custard, the Hither Green Deli). The stunning Hither Green Library sits in the beautiful Manor House Gardens (a lovely park with a pond and its own cafe!), less than 5 mins from the flat. Blackheath is a 20 min stroll away - perfect for Sunday morning brunch followed by an amble over the heath and into Greenwich. Greenwich must be one of the most beautiful towns in SE London - stunning architecture, pubs along the river and a buzzing market.
What's great about transport?
Hither Green station is 8 minutes' walk from the flat. It is in zone 3 and it takes less than 15 minutes to London Bridge and 20/25 mins to Canon St and Charing Cross. The train service is frequent and reliable and you can avoid the hideous tube! For those needing to reach the Canary Wharf area, the DLR runs fro Lewisham which is a 20 min walk away (or 5 mins on the train).
What I love about socialising?
It's very easy to get home from central London, which is where I do most of my socialising - trains run until about 1am. There is a great selection of restaurants and bars within very easy reach of the flat in Blackheath and Greenwich. However, the recently renovated Lord Northbrook pub on Burnt Ash Road comes highly recommended and if you prefer an old style boozer, the Dacre Arms is a well worth a visit (both 5 - 10 mins walk from the flat). The Station Pub is fine if you want to watch the footy and it has its own acoustic night.
**Please note the property has steepish stairs which may render it inappropriate for those with young babies that need to be carried**
