Alford is a small convenient village with its own parish church located between Lovington and Castle Cary. Lovington is a popular village with a church, primary school and a popular pub/restaurant. The historic market town of Castle Cary is a short distance to the east and has a mainline railway station to Paddington as well as Doctors, Dentist, Library, Privately owned Supermarket, Greengrocer, Butcher, Banks, Post Office and numerous independent shops.
