The village also has a railway station with trains every hour to both Barnstaple and Exeter. In the village stands an ancient granite cross which is mentioned in a Saxon charter of the year 974. This cross is virtually in the centre of the County.
DIRECTIONS From Crediton take the A377 road to Copplestone (about 4 miles). Proceed through the traffic lights at the bridge and bear around to the right, staying on the A377. The current entrance into Mill House is a driveway on your left in between a pair of thatched cottages (Bassetts Cottages), and an old cob barn.
