Full Details for 6 Bedroom Detached for sale in Fowey, PL23 :
Seascapes is a deceptively spacious and versatile family home, located in an outstanding position on the outskirts of the popular village of Polruan, enjoying some of the most panoramic sea and coastal views with the view on a good day extending to The Lizard.
The property itself, as mentioned previously, offers extremely versatile accommodation as it can be used as either one large family home or alternatively as three separate properties.
The majority of the living accommodation is found on the entrance level where there are up to five bedrooms depending on how one wished to utilise the space, together with a wonderful sitting/dining area, a contemporary kitchen/breakfast area and separate study. From all of the principle rooms within the property, the most wonderful views across the English Channel are enjoyed.
As previously mentioned, the accommodation can be used and configured to fit almost any family situation. The current vendors have configured the accommodation to facilitate themselves but have also created a self contained area for their relatives, within the same floor area, which consists of a double bedroom, single bedroom, sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. Please refer to the floorplan, which clearly shows how the accommodation can be split into three self contained areas.
On the lower ground floor, there is a double garage, a storeroom/gym, utility room and a self contained one bedroom annexe. The area offers potential purchasers the opportunity to accommodate a dependent relative or to utilise as holiday let accommodation. This area is entered from ground floor level and has its own private gardens and separate car park space.
Externally there is ample driveway parking located behind the property and accessed by electronic gates. Within this area there are two spacious timber sheds, ideal for the storage of garden equipment or alternatively useful should any potential purchaser who wishes to work from home or have a hobby such as a model railway. To the front of the property is a spacious lawned area where the most outstanding views of the English Channel can be enjoyed. There is also a balcony and a large decked area located within this area of the property and again the views available from these areas are breathtaking.
All in all, this delightful and spacious property offers extremely versatile living accommodation and will suit and adapt to many needs of a potential purchaser and we therefore suggest an early internal inspection to avoid disappointment.

Location | Polruan is a traditional waterside village situated on the east bank of the River Fowey, famous for its boat building heritage. Its a very pretty and sought after location, as is the wonderful town of Fowey on the opposite side of the harbour. Fowey Harbour remains a working port so there are some large ships which make a real spectacle. The Fowey river estuary is a thriving centre for fishing, seafaring, shipbuilding and agriculture. |
. | Polruan is ideally placed to access the relatively unspoilt waters of St Austell Bay. For cruising yachts, Polruan & Fowey are ideal destinations for those on passage to the west towards Falmouth, The Helford and the Isles of Scilly or east towards Plymouth, The Yealm, Dartmouth and further. There are two sailing clubs in Fowey, The Royal Fowey Yacht Club and the Fowey Gallants Sailing Club, both of whom offer a warm welcome and showers to visiting Yachtsmen. |
. | Polruan Castle is a blockhouse, one of two coastal defences that were built in the 15th Century. A chain, which linked this blockhouse to the one on the opposite bank, was raised to prevent hostile ships sailing up river and attacking Fowey and Polruan. From here you get a spectacular view of the river across to Fowey and the estuary as it opens out into the Atlantic. |
. | Polruan is part of the parish of Lanteglos-by-Fowey, which is bordered by water on three sides - Pont Pill Creek to the north, the Fowey River to the west and the sea to the south. The natural defences of sea and river made the area an attractive dwelling place for the earliest inhabitants. This remoteness gives the area its unspoilt charm, with its narrow streets and narrower alleyways, where flights of slate steps twist between the houses. |
Services | The following services are available; mains electricity, mains drainage, mains water, oil fired heating Rayburn for central heating and hot water, LPG heating via a combination boiler in the annexe, broadband and telephone line however we have not verified connection. |
Directions | From Plymouth take the A38 westwards to Liskeard and continue to pass Dobwalls. Turn left onto the A390 St Austell road. In about two miles turn left onto the B3359 and continue taking the right hand turn before reaching Lanreath as signposted Polruan. Proceed to Lanteglos Highway and in approximately half a mile turn left signposted Polruan. Follow the lane until you enter the village of Polruan proceeding past the first car park on the left hand side. The property will be found shortly afterwards on the right hand side indicated by a Country & Waterside For Sale Board. |
