Full Details for 5 Bedroom Semi-Detached for sale in Bristol, BS31 :
The popular village of Saltford lies between the beautiful cities of Bath and Bristol. It is not only very convenient, but also enjoys close proximity to the River Avon as well as open countryside. Number 5 Homefield Close is a handsome Victorian property that enjoys a superb location within the village. What initially attracted us to Saltford was the fact that it has the feel of an old fashioned village but its not in the slightest bit isolated, says Ros. We have shops close by, the transport links are excellent and we even have a cycle path that leads directly into Bath and into Bristol. In terms of the house itself we were quite simply wowed by it, and for us it ticked all the boxes. When we bought the house it wasnt in need of renovation but it did need some improvements here and there, continues Ros. We started by putting a pitched roof onto the porch, so its now much more in keeping with the style of the house, and we also put patio doors in the kitchen, Velux windows on the top floor to take in the beautiful views, and a lovely wood burner into the snug living room, so its cosy and warm in winter. Id say all in all we have enhanced the house both visually and in terms of comfort.Quite in contrast to the house, the garden has been quite the project, says Ros. It had been totally unloved and so over the years we have given it a great deal of TLC to create a really beautiful space. Its mostly walled, and so very secluded, and because it wraps around the house we can follow the sun from morning to early evening. My favourite part of the house is definitely the kitchen and breakfast area, says Ros. Its lovely big space, and when friends or family come to visit we all seem to naturally gravitate to it. We have replaced the original door with patio windows so it can be opened up to the pretty courtyard beyond, which is a lovely place to have morning coffee. We live in the oldest part of Saltford, says Ros, which is filled with beautiful period properties and so has a lot of character and a real villagey feel. We have shops close by and some lovely old pubs just a stroll away, and theres also a great sense of community. Not long after moving here my husband and I were married, says Ros, and because we have so much space we were able to erect a beautiful marquee in the garden and hold the most wonderful reception. It was a really memorable day.We have decided to downsize to a property in Bath, says Ros, but there is so much that we shall miss about this house. We have loved having the space both inside and out, the garden is an absolute joy and the location would be hard to better. It has been a wonderful home for the past eight years.
