Full Details for 5 Bedroom Semi-Detached for sale in Redhill, RH1 :
This grand, Victorian family home is bursting with charm and character. There is history in every room, including an abundance of original features - picture rails, deep skirting boards, high ceilings, original doors and cornicing, making it easy to imagine the elegant way of life from when this home was first built. There is huge potential here to breathe new life into this wonderful family home with endless possibilities as to what you could do with the layout. If the layout works for you as it is, then with some cosmetic work and updating there really is the chance to put your own stamp on what is a relatively blank canvas. The accommodation itself is deceptively spacious; the large lounge to the front of the house makes a real statement with a big bay window which really lets the light flood through. There is also a separate, more formal dining room, which will comfortably accommodate meals with the family as well as being superb for hosting dinner parties. The practical side of this home can be found in the excellent storage space in the cellar. There are two rooms down here, one of which is currently a workshop and the other a utility space. There is also a pretty, sunny rear garden which is a good size, perfect for relaxing with a glass of something cold at the end of a busy day.
We bought the house almost 50 years ago and it has been a brilliant family home, mainly due to the sheer size and space as there was plenty of room for everyone! When we first bought the house it still had gas lighting and the original copper in the kitchen for hot water so we had to do lots of work before we could move in.The location is really convenient, walking distance to the station and town and an easy drive to Gatwick so everything is right at your fingertips.I will be sad to leave, but it is time for me to move somewhere more manageable and I will take with me many happy memories of my time here.
