Full Details for 5 Bedroom Detached for sale in Whitstable, CT5 :
It is often said that location is the key to any property and this is certainly true of this property. You will find this delightful family home at the end of a private lane containing some 6 large detached properties on the outskirts of the lovely village of Chestfield, about 3 miles from the coast at Whitstable. It backs onto fields so is very quiet, peaceful and safe for children and there are rural views from virtually every window. Built to a very high standard in the 1960s this attractive property has plenty of character and includes features such as leaded light windows, oak doors and an impressive oak staircase. It is now ready for new owners to upgrade it to their own taste and create a beautiful modern home. There is even the opportunity to extend the house, subject to the necessary permissions. From the moment you walk through the porch and into the entrance hall you can feel the spaciousness of the accommodation and this is emphasised when you enter the large light and bright lounge area with an archway through to a sitting area with access to the terrace and another open arch to the dining area. This large overall space is ideal if you enjoy entertaining but you can be equally cosy and relaxed sitting in front of the fireplace. There is a well proportioned kitchen/breakfast room and a substantial utility room. There is also a cloakroom on the ground floor while upstairs you will find five bedrooms and a family bathroom off the large galleried landing. The master bedroom incorporates a vast en suite bathroom while three of the other bedrooms have built in hand basins. There is a very large front garden that is mostly laid to lawn and a long driveway leading to the double garage. The sizeable garden continues round to the back of the house where there is the walled terrace and another lawn big enough for the kids to play football. This area also includes a summer house and a green house as well as some mature shrubs and trees and a delightful pond full of koi carp. The adjacent 4.957 acres of paddocks could be available to either rent or purchase separately if you have a family interested in having horses at home or even somewhere to house a few alpacas or sheep for those wanting to develop their own version of the 'good life'.

This had been our family home for around 30 year so we have very fond memories of growing up here. However since our mother passed away we feel it is now time to sell the house even though it will be quite a wrench. It is a wonderful family home and we always loved being out in the country and yet not to far from the village and access to the Thanet Way for London and the historic city of Canterbury as well as Whitstable with its harbour, range of individual shops and fabulous restaurants. For golfing enthusiasts the Chestfield Golf Club is just a mile away and if you want to enjoy a drink and a pleasant meal the 14th century Chesfield Barn is a delight. The village is very friendly and nearby Swalecliff includes a variety of local shops such as a convenience store, hairdressers, pharmacy and dentist and it is not far to the Sainsburys supermarket and the Chestfield and Swalecliffe station. For anyone who enjoys walking the pathway outside the house can virtually take you to Canterbury.
