SUMMARY
A fine Edwardian Gentleman’s residence set in about one acre with a grand entrance. Many original features have been retained with complementary improvements to include a fully fitted kitchen, bathrooms, utility/shower rooms. Within the grounds is a self contained annexe and a double garage.
DESCRIPTION
Brynffin dates back to 1904 when Lt Colonel David Morris who had a distinguished military career in India,
returned to his native birthplace of Betws and constructed a gentleman’s residence.
Lt Colonel Morris served as a Justice of Peace, a local Councillor and an active member of ‘Capel Newydd’. He was also a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, coincidentally the same profession as the present owner.
On Lt Colonel Morris’s death and in commemoration of his good deeds the road on which the house was built was to become known as Colonel Road.
Subsequent occupants of Brynffin have included Lord Ivor Richard who, at one time, held the position of Leader of the House of Lords.
The present owners have lived in the house for over 12 years and only the need to be nearer family has prompted the move.
Betws is a quiet and friendly community with a strong village ethic, the rugby club acting as the community centre for many village activities.
Located on the edge of Betws Mountain the village is on the doorstep of Ammanford with its comprehensive retail, domestic and leisure facilities. Swansea, Carmarthen and Llanelli are within a thirty minute drive.
Brynffin will appeal to growing families, gardeners, dog owners, equestrians and walkers alike. Within the grounds is an annexe, converted from the stables, which would be ideal for a holiday let or dependant relative.
