Glenowen is one of the finest large family homes in Pembrokeshire with a wealth of neoclassical period features. It is set within beautiful gardens, and includes a heated outdoor swimming pool, various outbuildings together with a field and a wildlife paddock. It is situated in the rural hamlet of Mastlebridge, close to the Cleddau Estuary. A short drive away is Neyland, which has a popular Yacht Club and Marina with Bar/Restaurant, along with a variety of local shops, and a primary school.
The house was built by Captain James Roberts, who was a master in the Royal Navy and a veteran of the Battle of Trafalgar. Although the work was started on the building in the 1820's, but stopped for a period, and then was completed in the late 1840's.
