Full Details for 5 Bedroom Detached for sale in Leeds, LS7 :
Grade II listed mid-Eighteenth century house including land and outbuiildings located close to Leeds city centre. Property requires renovation due to suffering some fire damage. The original five bedroom house is a large three storey built in brown hand-made bricks, with an outbuilding on the left.
History
We have been informed by the owner that this is a Queen Anne style building off Scott Hall street. The original Scott Hall was sited in Potternewton, south of Potternewton Lane near where Scott Hall place is now. This had been the home of the Scott family since ancestral roots in Scotland. Gilbert Scott, who died in 1542, was Lord of the manor at Potternewton. The original hall was demolished and the land was used for extensive quarrying. The then owner of the quarry decided to build a new Scott Hall in hand made bricks as at the time this was more prestigious and expensive than using Stone.
Land and Layout
Built from brick and stone the hall has accommodation over 3 floors, currently split into two properties. On renovation could be converted back into a 6/8 bedroomed home with 3/4 reception rooms.
The land covers a large area and is currently heavily planted with trees and shrubs. This property could offer someone the option of development (subject to planning) or the opportunity to have livestock.
The outbuildings and land provide a fantastic development oppourtunity for both apartments and houses. Offered with no planning pemission at present.
Viewing Arrangements
Please note the access to the property is difficult and we would recommend that you wear hard hats, bring a torch and wear suitable footwear. We cannot be held responsible for your safety whilst at the property.
PLEASE NOTE: THE PROPERTY OFTEN HAS GUARD DOGS ROAMING FREE ON THE LAND FOR SECURITY. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE GROUNDS WITHOUT THE SUPERVISION OF NORTH PARK PROPERTIES STAFF.
Reports
The current owners have commissioned a number of reports including a Damp and Timber report, Structural Inspection Report, Land Survey, some outline planning ideas, Tree Preservation report and have received a planning statement from Leeds City Council. Copies of which can be obtained from North Park Properties.
