Barton St David is a quiet and pleasant village in unspoilt countryside between the towns of Somerton, Glastonbury, Wells and Castle Cary. It's a very active community with a church, village hall, tennis court and a busy village pub (pub of the year in 2014). The nearby villages of Butleigh, Keinton Mandeville and Baltonsborough provide other amenities including village shops and post offices, farm shops and primary schools. The surrounding towns offer a wide range of facilities and communications are good with the A303 a few miles south and a main line station at Castle Cary.There are excellent state and independent schools in the area including several village primary schools, Strode College, Crispins, St. Dunstans, Wells Blue School, Wells Cathedral School, Hazelgrove and Millfield.
