Full Details for 5 Bedroom Detached for sale in Canterbury, CT3 :

This property is a delightfully sprawling chalet bungalow set in 0.32 of an acre of beautifully maintained gardens. As you sweep into the driveway and experience the scent and colour of the flowers, shrubs and trees surrounding the house, you can feel the welcoming atmosphere. The main accommodation is very flexible and currently consists of a large double-bedroom on the ground floor with an en suite bathroom

And two charming double-bedrooms upstairs with a bathroom in between, accessed from the feature galleried landing that overlooks the impressive vaulted dining room below.

The entrance hall is so big you can even include a large sofa without it looking crowded. This flows through to the fitted kitchen/breakfast room and attractive main living room with its eight-foot-square leaded light window. If you have guests they will delight in looking out at the view across the lawn to the garden chalet.

This delightful home is full of surprises. As you walk into the rear garden you are greeted by a fantastic stand-alone conservatory where you are likely to spend much of your time. This enormous outdoor room can be

Used virtually all year round, whether you want to relax over a cup of coffee with your friends and family, stretch out on a lounger with a good book or enjoy a candlelit dinner with someone special. Another surprise is the sizeable annex. Attached to the main house but with its own separate entrance front and back, you feel you are stepping into a completely separate property. As you walk into the spacious dining hall and open-plan sitting room/kitchen it feels really

Cosy and, with a large walk-in shower and two double-bedrooms upstairs, it would provide a very pleasant home for a family member wishing to enjoy some independence.

What the Owner says:

We bought this house from new about 25 years ago and moved here with our children. It has been a wonderful home but now the family have grown up and moved away we want to be nearer to them. We have
always enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of the village of Stourmouth and we have friendly neighbours, who are always there to support each other. Over the years we have taken great pleasure in developing the garden and adding the conservatory and the annex. We feel the annex would be ideal for adult children, other relatives or as a holiday let. Indeed, for anyone perhaps considering this place as a country holiday home, the annex could always be available if you wanted someone living in to look after the main
house and garden in your absence Stourmouth has an historic Saxon church, where they hold art shows and
occasional services. From here there are wonderful walks including the Saxon Shore Way circular walk and the Grove Ferry walks along the banks of the Stour or through the nature reserve at Stodmarsh. It is a wonderful area for birdwatching and fishing and, if you want to go out for a drink or a meal and not take the car, you can walk to the Dog and Duck at Plucks
Gutter, the Rising Sun in East Stourmouth or the Grove Ferry Inn.
