Full Details for 5 Bedroom Detached for sale in Birchington, CT7 :
Tucked away in the quiet cul-de-sac of Berkeley Road in Birchington, this beautiful chalet bungalow is a veritable Tardis of a property. From the moment you walk into the large entrance hall with its two elegant and well-proportioned reception rooms accessed through open archways on either side, you can feel the warmth and space engendered by this unusual family home. While these reception rooms make a wonderful area for watching TV and entertaining visitors, the real hub of the household and where the family spend much of its time, is the charming country-style kitchen with its solid oak cupboards and drawer units beneath granite work surfaces. It has hardwearing Karndean flooring, built-in ovens, a microwave and hob as well as a separate dining area. The sumptuous master suite includes a fantastic walk-in wardrobe and dressing table that flows through into the luxurious bathroom. Sottini bathroom suites are used throughout the house. It also has its own very secluded courtyard, where you can enjoy breakfast or a private drink in the sunshine. At the far end of the property is a very large bedroom-cum-sitting room, a colourful bathroom and a sizeable utility room that could be converted to another kitchen if required. This area has a separate back door so could be used as a ‘granny annex’ or be suitable for adult children needing their independence. There is plenty of storage throughout the property and the two double-bedrooms and bathroom upstairs provide an excellent area for guests or teenagers looking for a little privacy. The office is ideally situated if you have work to do at home because it is just beside the main back door, so is useful if you have business visitors as they don’t need to go through the whole house.
“We have lived here for some 17 years and really love the peace and solitude of the area – so much so that we have built a new home next door! Since we bought this house we have extended and refurbished it throughout but, as our children have left home, we thought we would like something a little smaller and let another family enjoy this home as much as we have. We have created a very easy-to-maintain south-facing garden and large terrace where you can enjoy al fresco dining or sunbathing throughout most of the day.
If you like a little gentle exercise, we are only about a minute’s walk from the Birchington Bowls Club and tennis courts and just two minutes’ walk from the seafront at Beresford Bay – home of the Beresford Waterski Club where members can launch their speed boats. We have stunning scenery, wonderful sunsets, rocky outcrops and miles of shoreline stretching as far as the eye can see, 15 sandy beaches from Pegwell Bay in the south to Minnis Bay in the north of Thanet – these cannot be bettered anywhere in the country; our beaches have more Blue Flag and seaside awards than anywhere else in the UK. We are less than a quarter of a mile to Birchington town centre with its variety of individual shops, restaurants and pubs as well as supermarkets (Sainsbury & Co-op) for our everyday needs. There is a regular bus service to Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Canterbury whilst the high-speed trains have an hourly service to St. Pancras in one hour 27 minutes.
