Wells is the smallest city in England (population about 11,000) lying in beautiful countryside between the Somerset Levels and the Mendip Hills – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The City has local markets twice a week and many medieval buildings including the Cathedral and moated Bishops Palace, 
Shepton Mallet is a thriving, historic, small market town with a wide range of facilities, including interesting national and local shops (Tesco, Laura Ashley, Boots, etc.) and again many medieval houses and buildings. 
Both Wells and Shepton have a good pubs and award winning restaurants, busy shopping centres and excellent State & Private schools in the area including Wells Blue School, Whitstone, Wells Cathedral School, Millfield School, Downside, All Hallows and the Sherborne and Bruton schools. 
There is fast road access to Bath, Bristol and Yeovil, with London Paddington just 1 hour 40 minutes away on the mainline service from nearby Castle Cary. Bristol Airport is within 20 miles on a fast road. 
Croscombe, practically midway between Wells and Shepton Mallet  is known to date back to at least 706 and it developed in the 16th and 17th centuries with the boom in the wool trade. Today Croscombe is a vibrant village with a primary school, village stores, a couple of pubs and a very active local community.

Take the A371 towards Shepton and enter the village of Croscombe.  In the centre of the village is the Bull Terrier pub.
