I moved here some 13 years ago and fell in love with the house and the décor. However, I feel that it is time for me to move to something a little smaller. I have thoroughly enjoyed living here and doing up the lower ground floor. I employed an architect to totally redesign the whole area and, during the warmer weather, I spend much of my time downstairs. However, I do love the first floor lounge where I can sit and watch the world go by and enjoy the wonderful views across to Sandwich. Indeed, during the Open Golf tournament at Sandwich you can even see the hospitality tents!

I have always loved the community spirit engendered by the local residents. In the summer we have monthly ‘gardening days’ where people who live in the square tend the communal garden and end the day with a few drinks and a barbecue. Fortunately, as I am only going to move within Ramsgate, I can always come back and continue looking after the gardens – particularly the rockery which I originally developed. The house is also very central for the town. I can walk to Waitrose and it is not far from the pubs and restaurants along Harbour Parade and Main Sands for a day on the beach with the children. If you want to go to London, the high-speed train from Ramsgate is extremely useful and can whisk you to London in a little over an hour.
