Full Details for 4 Bedroom Detached for sale in Canterbury, CT2 :
To really appreciate this amazing L shaped four bedroom bungalow, you need to cross the threshold. There is hard standing frontage that will take at least four cars and a brick paved drive that goes the full length of this very extensive plot where you can park a number of additional vehicles. The driveway runs alongside the entire length of the house and garden outside the fence, ending up at a double garage and very useful workshop.Once through the attractive stained glass front door you are greeted by a hallway that virtually disappears into the distance. This initially leads to the large light and bright bedroom 4/stud that is currently fitted as a lovely office and is ideal if you work from home. There is a substantial and elegant lounge/dining room with direct access to a very large conservatory and from here you can walk out into the fascinating but easy to manage terraces and garden. As you can imagine this whole area provides a wonderful overall space for entertaining and relaxing. The colourful and modern kitchen, with direct access to a garden room extension and adjacent to the utility room, is a joy to behold and is where the family are likely to spend much of their time. The kitchen includes a scarlet range cooker and matching tiles, a black American fridge/freezer topped by a wine rack, cream units and a central island breakfast bar, while the garden room makes an ideal spot for a table and chairs or comfy sofas. Along the corridor you will find the stunning family bathroom where no expense has been spared to create to provide the ultimate tiled wet room incorporating both a bath and a large shower. Two of the three other double bedrooms have en suite facilities while the master also includes a wall of fitted wardrobes and bedroom furniture. The garden has been specifically designed for pleasure and leisure. There are a number of terraces for barbecues and al fresco meals as well as pergolas, a covered area for a hot tub and/or outdoor bar and a raised seating area where you can sit and relax in the summer. However there is still enough lawn for children or grandchildren to kick a ball or for dogs to run around.
We bought the property some 24 years ago. Over the years we have devoted much of our time to completely renovating and extending the place both inside and out, to provide the lovely and unusual home you see today. However we feel it is time for us to downsize and hope that another family will be able to take advantage of everything it has to offer. It is amazing how spacious the bungalow is now. We have also installed 14 solar panels which have been fantastic in helping keep the energy bills low.
Blean is a delightful village with the famous and historic Blean Woods providing some wonderful nature trails and bridle paths, while the Crab and Winkle route offers enjoyable cycling. The village is half way between popular Whitstable and Canterbury with its historic buildings, high street stores, universities and colleges and excellent pubs and restaurants, so you can be in the city or the coast in a matter of minutes. Indeed, we are less than five minutes’ drive from the Thanet Way in one direction and Canterbury West station on the other which is very useful for anyone needing to commute to work.
There is an excellent primary school within very easy walking distance and a bus stop just outside the door. In addition there are two good pubs, while the village hall provides plenty of activities from coffee mornings, table tennis and line dancing to art, yoga and pre-school facilities. You will also find a post office and the Londis convenience store.
