Langton Farm House is situated in the delightful hamlet of Siston, 8.3 miles from vibrant central Bristol and 9.5 miles from the centre of historic Bath. Offering an easy commute to these two major cities yet providing a peaceful and tranquil setting, the village is centred around the eleventh century church of St Annes, and there is an active community feel. The village green is host to the annual summer fete. The current residents have enjoyed almost 10 years here and during their time at Langton Farm House they have lovingly modernised the home, keeping a traditional theme throughout, to this 1940s home. We added a double extension and reconfigured the living space to provide a generous family home, they explain. The ground floor has a gentle flow from room to room and the neutral décor adds to the sense of openness. Each of the four bedrooms is a good size with an en suite to the master bedroom. We added a luxurious family bathroom, which has the pleasure of a freestanding roll top bath and a practical walk-in double shower cubicle. It was the idyllic village location that first attracted us to Langton Farm House, which enjoys a very secluded position; it is rural but not remote. The surrounding countryside cocoons the house and views can be enjoyed from every aspect, and it is lovely to sit and watch the wildlife in their natural environment. The house is set well back from the lane and the gardens are very private. The open plan kitchen/breakfast room is the hub of the home, this is our favourite room of the house, there is plenty of room for a large dining table and we love to congregate here. We use the dining room for more formal occasions and the sitting room has a homely feel with the log burning fireplace offering a comforting glow. It is difficult to pinpoint what we will miss the most about living here; we will certainly miss the village and the neighbourhood. We are downsizing and are hoping to find a home with the sense of space and privacy that we enjoy here but on a smaller scale, conclude the owners.
