If your idea of heaven is a period cottage in a rural location yet within easy reach of several Wealden villages, then this could be the perfect home for you.
As you step inside, the first thing you’ll notice is how bright and welcoming it feels. Large bay windows allow light to stream through. Sink into soft settees in the family room and relax, the feature of the open fire creating the perfect focal point.
The large lounge/dining area is perfect if you enjoy entertaining. There is ample room to lay up a table where your guests can relax as you put the finishing touches to the meal. If the evening grows chilly, light the wood burner to make the room warm and cosy.
Indeed, your guests may not want to leave but the downstairs space has another surprise in store. Bedroom 4 has its own shower creating an ideal overnight guest suite.
Step out into the garden for a spot of fresh air in the morning. Surrounding the house, there are beautiful “secret” areas to explore and ample room for the children to run around and play.
Last but not least is the fabulous location. Although the house is on a quiet, rural road, a few minutes’ drive will bring you to the centre of Staplehurst or Marden, and a little further away is picturesque Goudhurst. What could be more perfect?
What the Owner says:
When we bought this house we just fell in love with the beautiful location. Even after all this time we still appreciate the views. With a detached double garage and a driveway we have plenty of parking, so we’ll often leave the cars at home and get out to enjoy the fresh country air. There are so many lovely walks on the doorstep.
On a Sunday morning, we may take a gentle twenty minute stroll into the centre of Staplehurst to buy the day’s papers, or for a day out we may visit the Hush Heath Vinery which is just along the road, or a little further on, Bedgebury Pinetum. For commuters, the train journey from Staplehurst to London takes around an hour, so you get the best of all worlds here.
