Full Details for 4 Bedroom Detached for sale in Ramsgate, CT12 :
The care that has gone into the creation of this unique property in Cliffsend is the stuff of dreams. Designed and built by the owners in 2012 it has all the character of a property from a bygone era but with every mod con you could possibly wish for. From the moment you first see this lovely cottage your eyes will be drawn to the reclaimed brickwork, the leaded light windows and the beautiful oak garage and front door. Inside, the excitement builds as you see the handcrafted oak doors, staircase and galleried landing together with the reclaimed French paving stones in the hall leading to the stunning kitchen/breakfast room. Here, the beautiful brick recessed range cooker and the ceiling beams provide wonderful character features while the immaculate and high-quality fittings and built-in appliances provide the modern touch and the adjacent utility room offers plenty of storage and keeps the laundry out of sight. There is also a useful room that could be an office or a children’s play room if you want to keep an eye on the kids while you are in the kitchen. Whether you want a cosy night in front of the inglenook fireplace or you are looking to host a party for friends, the superb drawing room with its oak floor, beamed ceiling and bi-folding doors to the terrace is just the place. While, next door, there is an elegant dining room for those extra-special supper parties. Adjacent to the dining room is a modern shower room so, if you have an elderly relative who found the stairs difficult, it would be possible to convert the dining room into a bed/sitting room and make the shower room en suite. There is a real ‘wow factor’ when you walk into the master bedroom and see the size of the room, the hand-built oak wardrobes and the vast en suite bathroom. There is also a large walk-in dressing room that could be used as a nursery or a child’s bedroom. With two other double bedrooms and another bathroom there is plenty of room for a growing family.
It took two years to find the double plot so we wanted to build something we could be very proud of. We thoroughly enjoyed searching for suitable building materials as we didn’t want it to look like a ‘new’ house. The bricks came from an old school that was being demolished, the roof slates were also reclaimed and we managed to obtain the services of an excellent local carpenter to build the doors and cupboards. The property was designed to be eco-friendly with underfloor heating everywhere and solar panels on the large workshop roof to reduce electricity bills, while the Rainwater Harvester keeps water bills to a minimum. It has been wonderful to spend time in the garden, with its large terrace, fishpond, greenhouse and veggie patch as it has always been a delight to grow fruit and vegetables. Cliffsend is a lovely place with a real village atmosphere. There are two convenience stores and a post office as well as the village hall, a petrol station and the Sportsman pub. On the coast is ‘Hugin’ – the famous replica of a Viking ship that sailed into Broadstairs in 1949 – as well as Pegwell Bay and its wonderful nature reserve. We also have St. Augustine’s Golf Club and are not far from Ramsgate for the main-line station that can whisk you to London in just over an hour.
