We moved here with a view to only living there for a year…….we stayed for 16 years ! It has been a happy fun-filled house where we raised our daughter who attended a lovely local school. However, due to a job re-location, we now find ourselves having to move away from Ashington.
We have found Ashington to be a warm friendly community with many social groups and activities for young and old alike. The Community Centre is the social hub of the village. We have also been known to nip down to the local pub for dinner and a glass of wine as it is in easy walking distance from home!
People often comment as they pass by how pretty the house is in Summer when I fill the hanging baskets with geraniums and pansies.
