We have spent 15 wonderful years here and thoroughly enjoyed renovating the house. We literally stripped the house back to basics and have refurbished everything including total rewiring and plumbing. Our idea was to create a home where we and our family and friends could have fun. We love entertaining and as well as regular dinner parties and snooker events, visitors always look forward to our ‘outdoor parties’. In addition to the pool, barbecue and bar we often include croquet on the lawn and we have even created a small golf course and play area for the children. We love the tranquil environment, the friendly village community and the wonderful country walks across the adjacent fields and footpaths.
Great Mongeham is a historic place with a 14th-century church, two pubs, a local shop and a nearby post office as well as stables and a tack shop for anyone who enjoys riding. There is a good primary school and Northbourne Prep School in the next village. We are only about a mile from the charming coastal town of Deal with its golf courses, hotels, restaurants, pubs and individual shops leading to the seafront. With Walmer Station only 1.7miles away for the high-speed train to St. Pancras, you could have breakfast on the terrace at home and still be in London in time for work.
