Full Details for 4 Bedroom Detached for sale in Hythe, CT21 :
Looking at the front of this property on Lympne Hill you will be enthralled by the chocolate-box appeal of this 400-year-old property. As you walk into the reception hall, with its vast inglenook fireplace and lovingly-restored beams and the delightful library/dining room, this feeling continues. However, much of this charming family home was added around the 1930s so provides a different ambience as you wander into the modern and well-equipped kitchen/breakfast room and the spacious lounge with fireplace. But it is the fabulous views onto the beautiful sloping gardens across Romney Marsh to Hythe Bay that really takes your eye. These views are even more spectacular once you go upstairs into the four good-sized bedrooms and bathroom. Many of these charming rooms have beamed ceilings and there is also a study/fifth bedroom on this floor but, if required, could be converted to an en-suite bathroom. You can spend happy hours sitting on the terrace, with its art deco overhang, revelling in the vista and listening to the birds or pottering in the beautiful garden with its myriad of specimen trees, including a rare medlar as well as magnolias and camellias adding a splash of colour in the spring. To add to the many delights of this home there is the large detached property, currently set up as an impressive two-storey artist’s studio, with vast windows providing plenty of natural light. It could be converted to a separate annex for family members with the necessary planning consents. For anyone looking to generate an income it could become a wonderful holiday let or an excellent suite of offices for anyone wanting to run their business from home
“We fell in love with this house the moment we saw it some 20 years ago. It has been a wonderful home and we have loved being able to restore it to its former glory but, at the same time, provide modern elements that everyone needs for comfortable living. We have always enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as the views and are surrounded by countryside with The Roughs – an escarpment above Romney Marsh and along the White Cliffs of Dover – being adjacent to the property. The studio was tailor-made by the current owners. At the same time we are also very central as we can get to London or the Continent in under an hour.
Lympne is a charming village, with its medieval castle and the famous Port Lympne wild animal park, so there are plenty of places to take visitors. We also have a regular bus service to the lovely Cinque Port town of Hythe, with its restaurants and individual shops, and Ashford for the high-speed train. Westenhanger station, for more leisurely train journeys, is nearby and the village also includes a shop, a pub and a post office as well as a historic church and a village hall where you can join in a number of activities.”
