This beautiful country home has wonderful countryside views, yet its 1.49 acres of grounds are located on the outskirts of the popular village of Wootton, with all its amenities and easy access to the mainland via the Fishbourne, East Cowes and Ryde ferries.
There are two entrances, one to the front with the lovely brick façade and stunning clock tower, or alternatively to the rear accessed via the long gravel driveway where ample parking is available.
The home has been extended from its origin and provides luxury living, a wonderful lifestyle choice for the current owners and has the flexibility to offer a private area, separate downstairs sitting room and bedroom with en-suite – ideal for an extra family member.
Complimentary to working from home is a great office/bedroom 5 and a superb snooker room, furthermore, on the first floor are three bedrooms, en-suite bathroom and family shower room.
Opening up from the living space is a lovely garden with a fantastic sun terrace, just adding to the extensive living space, ideal for anytime of the day; a morning coffee or even a glass of wine, it is a glorious location indeed.
During a quiet winters’ evening sit in the lounge area with its charming log burner and enjoy a good book to read, or as an alternative have family and friends around and enjoy the games room – the choice is yours.
What the Owner says:
Having very busy lives commuting to the mainland three or four times a week, we were first attracted to this property by the feeling of retreat in its magical walled garden and over the years we have become delightfully aware of its other wonderful attractions.
It is a quiet, private, secluded home, with wonderful countryside views in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and yet the bustling centres of Ryde and Newport are just a few minutes away which has been very handy for collecting our granddaughter from Ryde School. The two main car ferries, Hovercraft and Fast Cat are within a few minutes’ drive making for a painless commute to the mainland.
A lovely countryside walk along The Heritage Trail brings you to Briddlesford Farm Shop selling wonderful local organic produce and a few steps away is our popular village public house, The Woodman Arms.
Over the years, we have renovated the house and it now provides a modern, spacious, and light-filled home. We like nothing more at the end of the day than to enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace, have a few friends over for a game of snooker and a BBQ or on a cold winter’s night, curl up by the wood burner with a good book. All the while enjoying the magnificent views over the garden to Firestone Copse and hearing the occasional whistle from the steam railway.
