This is a Grade II listed late 18th century brown brick house with a slate roof in two storeys and three bays. It has a Doric fluted column doorcase with toothed moulded frieze and a superior radial bar fanlight. From 1867 to 1873 it was the home of Ludwig Mond, the German born Chemist who was to help establish the business of Brunner Mond & Co. which became the largest producer of soda in the world. The original house has been extended behind its listed facade and provides distinguished family accommodation which respects its heritage whilst encompassing modern convenience and practicality.
