This stunning Canadian style bungalow enjoys a wonderfully secluded setting in 0.79 of an acre of beautifully landscaped grounds, sheltered on two sides within belts of mature trees and an open aspect to the rear directly onto North Foreland golf course. It really is a unique setting at the end of a quiet country lane in a plot that was once the orchard to Holland House, a truly special spot that provides total peace and tranquillity.
Walking through the original and unusual front door with its magnificent stained glass side panels, you immediately feel the light, warmth and space this delightful home engenders. Most of the original design features remain, such as the vast array of attractive wardrobes in most of the four double bedrooms, the large picture windows in every room and the unusual fireplace in the stylish living room. However, the bathrooms including the en suite off the master bedroom and kitchen/breakfast room, have been beautifully updated for modern day living.
The kitchen design with its modern ovens, induction hob and other integral appliances is ready for any aspiring chef to create mouth-watering dishes. The wraparound breakfast bar creates a charming area for friends and family to sit and chat over an informal meal or a cup of coffee, while the light and airy main reception room lends itself to more formal dinners and parties.
In the large and secluded garden there are two patio areas, so you can follow the sunshine all day. While for golfing aficionados this house is ideal as you can walk out of the garden straight onto the golf course.
What the Owner says:
When my late wife and I originally viewed the house we fell in love with it and decided it would be our new home within four hours of seeing it! We thought the bungalow was a real delight and found the peace and quiet very relaxing. I have lived here for 30 years and have enjoyed every moment but I have now decided to move nearer my daughter. This property is such a warm and friendly home and is a wonderful place for entertaining - I have even hosted parties for more than 30 people in the living room.
Although the garden is quite large, I have ensured that it is easy to maintain. I like relaxing with a book on the terrace whether it is the front patio accessed from the living room or the courtyard in the sunken garden, the surrounding walls make the areas so sheltered you can sit outside at any time of the year.
As I love playing golf, having the course on the doorstep is a great advantage and when I had dogs they also enjoyed a walk around the course as well as running around on the nearby secluded Kingsgate beach. If you want a drink or a meal the excellent Captain Digby pub and restaurant is only a few minutes’ walk.
