A beautiful home within this stunning converted Carriage House set in impressive grounds within the Killiow Estate.
Why You'll Like It
In the heart of this historic Cornish Estate lies the Carriage House which as the name suggests, originally served the main house and in 1990 was converted to provide an exclusive courtyard of individual properties. The original bell tower stands tall above the archway that leads through to the central courtyard. Being Grade II Listed, many features have been preserved and great thought and care has been taken to ensure that these essentially modern homes blend everyday comforts with beautiful stonework, high ceilings, sash windows and slate flagged floors. A charming veranda flanks one side of the internal courtyard and provides useful shelter over the front door. The reception hall has a lovely slate flagstone floor and the high ceilings ensure a spacious feel with cupboard providing storage for coats and shoes. A pair of doors open through to the living room which is light and bright thanks to windows overlooking both the front and rear gardens. In addition, French doors open to the paved sun terrace and rear garden. There is an attractive feature fireplace and electric underfloor heating. A good sized kitchen/dining room has a range of wood fronted units and a stone effect work surfaces with integrated hob, oven and extractor. There is plenty of space for a table and chairs. There is a cloakroom/WC and a second reception room/bedroom three completes the ground floor space. Upstairs, the main bedroom has an en suite shower room with a white suite. There is another double bedroom and a master bathroom with a white four piece suite which includes a bidet. The galleried landing has a cupboard which houses the hot water tank and there is a hatch to access the roof space.
Outside
Offering the best of both worlds, the rear garden and sun terrace is private and belongs to this property whilst the formal courtyard garden to the front is communal and most attractive with cobbled pathways and box hedges. The property owns two designated parking spaces and there is plenty of additional parking for visitors.
The Killiow Estate
The Estate has been in existence for some 900 years with acres of country parkland surrounding Killiow House. Much of the parkland is now a Golf Course meaning that much of the road approaching the Carriage House is through the beautifully tended fairways.
Where It Is
Killiow is within a few minutes drive of Truro with the closest village being Playing Place where you will find a Post Office/Stores and a regular bus service linking to local towns. From Truro on the A39 to Falmouth, turn right just after the long bend towards Kea Church. Just after the church, turn left into the Private Road across the golf course. At the fork, take the lane on the right and you will reach the parking area. Walk through the archway and number 2 is on the left hand side.
