Full Details for 3 Bedroom Flat for sale in Salisbury, SP3 :
A spacious top floor split-level apartment with versatile accommodation in a former historic brewery in a village setting in the heart of the beautiful Nadder Valley.
Property
The Old Brewery is located on the site of the old parish workhouse which was converted in 1868 by Archibald Beckett for the Wiltshire Brewery, it was then rebuilt in 1885 following a fire. Subsequently it was used as a flour mill and later a woodworking business before the Grade II Listed building was converted to an upmarket and stylishly designed residential development of 22 apartments and townhouses in 2003. An iconic building in Tisbury, The Old Brewery is based round a central landscaped courtyard with the grounds siding onto the River Nadder and is accessed through a distinctive archway over the top of which is inscribed the legend; ‘Proprietor Archibald Beckett Rebuilt 1885’. The Riverloft occupies the southwest corner of the third (top) floor with views over the Nadder, surrounding countryside and the adjoining churchyard.
With an entrance phone system, stairs and a lift to the communal landing, Riverloft’s accommodation is arranged over two levels. This includes a hall, a generous sitting room with stairs leading up to the large light and airy kitchen/dining room fitted with a range of appliances. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, whilst one of the other two bedrooms has a fitted wooden desk unit giving the option for it to be used as a study. There is also a family bathroom and useful store room.
Outside
The communal grounds include a paved and gravelled courtyard with a raised pond and fountain whilst to the rear is a gravelled area of parking with a space reserved for The Riverloft. Beyond the garden are steps leading down to a small grassed area beside the River Nadder.
The Old Brewery is bordered on one side by the River Nadder and the grounds of the Norman church of St John the Baptist on another. This historic building is situated close to the centre of Tisbury, the principal village of the sought after Nadder Valley; a broad stretch of lovely undulating countryside between Salisbury and Shaftesbury and which forms part of the Cranborne Chase & West Wiltshire Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is an excellent base from which to explore the many miles of footpaths and bridleways in the area and to take part in a variety of rural pursuits such as walking, riding, cycling and fishing. Racing is at Bath, Salisbury and Wincanton whilst golf is available at Rushmore Park (Tollard Royal) and The Salisbury & West Wilts Golf Club (Salisbury).
Tisbury has a good choice of local shops and other facilities such as a doctor’s surgery, school, sports centre, garage, inns and eateries as well as a station with main line rail services to London (Waterloo). There are several excellent dining pubs nearby. The hilltop Saxon market town of Shaftesbury and the medieval cathedral city of Salisbury offer more comprehensive shopping, leisure and medical amenities. The region’s other towns including Bath, Blandford, Shaftesbury, Sherborne and Warminster are all accessible via the local road network as is the South Coast, London, the West Country and motorway network. There are regional airports at Bournemouth, Bristol and Southampton.
Many families are drawn to South Wiltshire by the excellent choice of well-regarded state and private schools in Salisbury and the surrounding district and in the case of the latter, these include Clayesmore, Port Regis, Sandroyd, Bryanston, Bruton, Dauntseys and St Mary’s amongst others.
As a Listed property an Energy Performance Certificate is not required.
