Location The idyllic market town of Aylsham where you will find a great selection of amenities including supermarkets, shops, schooling for all ages, doctors, pubs and restaurants is situated north of Norwich with regular bus services into Norwich and is within easy reach of both Norwich Airport and the North Norfolk Coast.

The property is part of the former workhouse designed by architect William Donthorne (1799-1859). He was a notable early 19th century English architect, and one of the founders of what became the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

He was born in Swaffam, Norfolk and a pupil of Sir Jeffry Wyattville. He worked both in the Gothic and Classical styles, but is perhaps best known for her severe Greek Revival country houses – most of which has been demolished. In 1834 he was one of several prominent architects to form the Institute of British Architects in London (later RIBA). A large number of his drawings are in the RIBA drawings collection, now housed at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

LOCATION Situated on the outskirts of the thriving historic market town of Aylsham, nestled in the heart of the Norfolk countryside, beside the upper reaches of the River Bure, yet just 13 miles from the city of Norwich.

With the majestic gardens and park of Blickling Hall on the doorstep, hundreds of historical churches, wonderful gardens such as Mannington and Wolterton close by and numerous arts and craft centres both in and around Aylsham, there is always plenty to do.

The Bure Valley Railway, Norfolk's longest 15 inch gauge line, operates between Aylsham and Wroxham. The 18 mile round trip runs through the picturesque Bure Valley, following the meandering river through meadowland and ancient pasture, stopping occasionally at small country villages along the way.

Well known for its twice weekly market and home to many independent boutiques, the town is also well served for all your grocery needs with Tesco, Co-op and Budgens stores.
