LOCATION The Somerset Parish of Brewham consists of the villages of North and South Brewham on either side of the river in the Brue valley, close to the Grade I listed landmark 'King Alfred's Tower.' The nearby town of Bruton (5 miles) is surrounded by beautiful undulating countryside and is well known for its schooling, King's, Bruton School for Girls and Sexeys. Downside at Stratton on the Fosse, Millfield at Street, Wells Cathedral School and also successful primary and Steiner Schools. Bruton has a good range of local shops, pubs and restaurants including the highly regarded 'The Chapel' which also supplies artisan bread and take out pizzas. A recent addition to the area is the internationally renowned Hauser & Wirth gallery. There is a railway halt on the Paddington line, with Castle Cary (approximately 10 miles) having main line railway station (London/Paddington 90 mins) and from Gillingham which connects to Waterloo. Frome (10 miles) is a thriving arts and cultural centre.
