Full Details for 3 Bedroom Bungalow for sale in Canterbury, CT4 :
Take a drive along the lane and pull onto the driveway leading to this unique bungalow. The Canadian pine frame construction and cedar wood cladding sees the property blend perfectly into surrounding woodland and you could imagine that the property would have always stood there on the hill! In fact, a bungalow has been there since just after the First World War, built by the local farmer for his family and later for farm workers. Having parked up in the car port you will be hard pressed not to take a moment to enjoy the breath taking views over the Kent countryside of Denton Valley. A photo of this would make a fantastic post card. The gardens surround the bungalow, with areas perfect for a simple seating area to gather with the family to vegetable patches with room to grow food to feed the entire family! The gardens also include more wild areas – prime to put your own stamp on as part of a former terrace garden or indeed to leave for the many birds and animals you will see to have as their home. Wildlife is an ever present here actually, the garden has become somewhat of a safe haven for the local pheasants! You could be forgiven for forgetting a little about the home itself with all this going on outside, however you will be pleased with the great living space on offer too! There is room for all the family with two separate sitting rooms and three well-proportioned bedrooms.
We have absolutely loved living here and have done so since the early 1950’s. Our family have grown up in this house and it is an incredibly happy home. Having lots of space inside has been even more important when the family or friends come to visit us now. It is now time though for us to downsize and more closer to the town. The gardens have been a pride and joy over the years but now it is time for someone else to take them and the bungalow on as their own. We will miss the views across the valley, especially during the winter when there is snow. This is a truly beautiful sight and we have never tired of in over 60 years now. The local village is a lovely place and there is a fantastic school and popular golf course.
