Full Details for 2 Bedroom Terraced for sale in Rugby, CV23 :
Beautiful Cottage for sale in Clifton-upon-Dunsmore.
This charming 2 bedroom cottage, set in the heart of Clifton village oozes character with its quirky style and original features.
As you can guess from its name, it was once the bakery that served the village their daily bread. Not only that, but it also provided an invaluable cooking source for many of the villagers who had no facilities of their own.
\"I've always felt it a privilege to live in the Old Bakery. It's played such an important part of the village's history and for me, it's part of the attraction of the property\".
Believed to have been built in around 1890, this lovely cottage really has so much appeal. The position is glorious, having views directly of St Marys Church opposite.
“When I first came to see the cottage, I pulled up outside the church and fell in love with the setting immediately”.
Despite it having an ‘Olde Worlde’ look, the property is styled with a pleasing mix of the traditional with the modern.
The lounge displays with pride, the 'Alfred Hunt Ltd' Bakers Oven and is complimented by the traditional beams to the ceiling. You might be surprised, but despite its age and style, it has a light and airy feel to it with no low ceilings to bump your head on!
The Master bedroom is generous and bright with aplenty of built in wardrobes.
Bedroom two, which was formerly the Bakery office, is found on the ground floor and has some pretty original features to it.
Further to the ground floor, you will find the bathroom with shower and an inner hallway which leads to the cottage style kitchen.
A rear porch leads out to the pretty courtyard-style garden. The neighbours' do have a right of way to take their bins through this way, such is often the way with cottages – but that’s all part of the charm!
If you don’t know Clifton-upon-Dunsmore, it’s a well regarded Warwickshire village roughly 2 miles North East of Rugby near the Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Warwickshire border and about 20 minutes' drive from Daventry.
It offers excellent motorway access having the M6, M1 and A14 nearby and the local railway station allows the commuter to get to Euston in less than 58 minutes.
Clifton has a safe and friendly community feel. It has its own Primary School which boasts 'Outstanding' Ofsted results within easy walking distance as well as the on-site play group.
The village pub, The Bull Inn, was refurbished a couple of years ago, and its garden benefited from a transformation earlier this year. It offers good food and a warm welcome.
Further amenities include St Mary's Church, the Clifton general store, a beauticians, hairdressers and estate agents and the Townsend Memorial village hall which hosts many activities including Mother and baby groups, fitness activities, bridge and one of my favourites, ‘Tuesday Teas‘ where many of the villagers get together for a chat and a very acceptable piece of cake!
There's a playing field, tennis club with 3 courts and a park for the little ones. There are plenty of country walks on your doorstep including the towpath walks along the Oxford Canal.
If this sounds like the sort of place you'd like to make home, then call Clare at Campbells for more information.
