Full Details for 2 Bedroom Terraced for sale in Freshwater, PO40 :
Part of Old Freshwater! It’s believed this cottage was built around 1850, according to local hearsay it was once the home of Lord Tennysons' coachman. Full of history and charm, it is a unique find. The current owners park to the front and, once inside, the charm of his home shines through. There is a cosy lounge with a feature fireplace which adds to the vintage feel. Along the corridor is the dining area, with a window looking out towards the rear garden and working fireplace, sit around the table and catch up on a busy day whilst dinner cooks in the nearby kitchen. Upstairs, the first bedroom is a great size, stretching along the front of the house it has room for the biggest of beds and the afternoon sun streams in. The second bedroom enjoys a view over the garden and there is a cheerfully decorated bathroom on this floor too. Although it’s easy to fall in love with this quaint cottage, from the front its hiding a secret - the gardens for children to play in with their noise away from the house or for keen gardeners to create an interesting design of garden. Leading away from the house is an outside storage cupboard, toilet and a neighbourly gate that allows you access across next door if you should need it. The garden stretches away from the house then out behind the whole row of cottages in total 0.172 of an acre, plenty of room to have some grow your own! There are two sheds and an expanse of lawn that is waiting for a new owner to enjoy planning its future.
Visiting a friend years ago I fell in love with this cottage - even only seeing the ground floor it felt like home and I knew it was for us. We have loved the fantastic garden, the warm feel of the home and the great central location as the shops are a short walk away. With the footpaths of Golden Hill Fort literally on our doorstep, it’s has been fantastic for the dogs too. It’s time to move on to something with a smaller garden and we hope that the new owners will enjoy our warm and welcoming cottage like we have. We will also include the petrol mower for the lawns in with the sale of the property.
