Full Details for 2 Bedroom Semi-Detached for sale in Okehampton, EX20 :
This lovely semi-detached country property is located in a rural setting surrounded by farmland about 1.5 miles from the village of Whiddon Down, and 2 miles from the A30 junction which gives great access to Okehampton, and Exeter. Whiddon Down is one of the main gateways to Dartmoor National Park and within a short drive there’s Castle Drogo, Okehampton Castle and numerous bridle paths, walking, and cycling routes in the area. The village has a well-regarded old Inn (the Post House), a large garage/convenience shop, hotel and village hall. Crediton town lies to the east and together with Okehampton provide the main local shopping and schooling facilities outside of Exeter.
The cottage offers very charming accommodation with character features including an inglenook fireplace with bread oven, exposed beams, and wall stonework. There is uPVC double glazing throughout. There is huge potential to extend the first floor to create further bedroom space if desired (planning permission would be required) – a master bedroomed/en-suite could be created over the dining room relatively easily in our opinion.
The ground floor is approached into the entrance hall, with a dividing screen into the dining room. From here, the room opens out into a snug which has a full height window looking into the garden. The bathroom is fitted with a free standing cast iron bath, shower cubicle, wash basin, and wc. The kitchen is long, and fitted with a range of handbuilt units and natural wood worktops. There is a Belfast sink, range style cooker, and large walk in pantry. The living room is well proportioned and has a large inglenook with cast iron woodburner & bread oven, door to the garden, and stairs to the first floor.
On the first floor are 2 double bedrooms. The master has a small en-suite wc and both have lovely views over the garden and beyond. At the end of the landing is deep airing cupboard.
The gardens are large, level and absolutely delightful – perfect for families, gardeners and anyone wanting a beautiful outside space! In all extend the gardens extend to about quarter of an acre and are mainly lawned with pretty flower beds, patio, natural Devon bank hedging, and trees A lane leads from the road via a timber 5-bar gate, to a gravelled parking area for several cars. There is a large timber built garden building, plus a smaller garden shed.
