Never judge a book by its cover
being located above a shop this spacious property could easily be dismissed with “it’s going to be too noisy” but keep an open mind, as not only is it very spacious but being on the first floor you are a level higher than the traffic, with double glazed windows.
The building itself dates back to circa 17th Century with the High Street being part of the original London to Brighton route - an interesting little detail.
The great surprise of space when we first entered the property, via its own front door, was almost jaw dropping. As you walk along the hallway with its own stain glass window you can see that each room is a very good size with a huge amount of natural light and views up the High Street. The lounge and bedroom 3, currently used as a dining room - have impressive sizes, they are great for entertaining or just relaxing in, combined with the modern kitchen this is a' ready to move into' apartment brimming with charm, genuine feelings of space and one to make a real home in.
The bathroom is large enough to accommodate a separate bath/shower, always handy, and the beautiful master bedroom is large, light and airy with built in wardrobe space.
Not only is there plenty of storage space, but the property also benefits from its own small front courtyard area and a parking space behind the building.
What the Owner says:
When I bought the flat almost 15 years ago, I truly couldn't believe how spacious it was and loved it straight away. The layout is bungalow style with some lovely features - wooden floors, large bathroom and my own front door.
The hall is very large so in the past I have used it as a dining area, for many a great party! The flat has a very social feel to it.
The location is great for me too - close to the motorway and airport. A village feel with easy accessibility.
A great fun flat with lots of appeal and character - everybody loves it.
