Situated above the village of Llanover, the property is in a rural, although not isolated. The location is ideal for watching wildlife and walks within the Brecon Beacons National Park are literally on the door step. The village of Llanover lies just off the A4042 Abergavenny to Newport Road equidistance between the pretty town of Usk and the historic market town of Abergavenny, the property is located approximately one and a half miles above the main road. The area is ideally suited for commuting to the cities of Bristol and Cardiff with the A4042 linking to the A40, A449 and to the M4 and M5 Motorway networks. The market town of Abergavenny has a main line railway station. The village of Llanover has historic origins and many of the properties are still owned by the Coldbrook and Llanover Estate which dates back to 16th Century.

Llanover estate was purchased in 1792 by Benjamin Waddington. On his death, the estate passed to his daughter Augusta who married Benjamin Hall, who later became Lord Llanover. Lord Llanover was best remembered as London's' first Commissioner for Works in 1855, and when the clock on the Houses of Parliament was built, the bell was named after him, \"Big Ben\". Lady Llanover was passionately interested in preserving the culture of Wales and became actively involved in music, folk dancing, cookery, and poetry. Lady Llanover was instrumental in establishing a Welsh national costume which is still in evidence to this day. Lady Llanover orchestrated the closure of the then many public houses on the estate, the Goose and Cuckoo survived.
