At the Symonds Yat Rock end of the property there is a parking bay, sufficient for two medium sized cars and from which a pathway leads past the main front elevation and then around through a gate into a gravelled courtyard which in turn gives access to the main door. The courtyard is large enough for a patio table, chairs, barbecue etc plus the storage of refuse bins. To the side of the property there is a short flight of steps up to an area which at the moment, is underused but which in our opinion, could be utilised as a small vegetable patch/herb garden.
Directions
The property can be approached from several directions. The easiest from either Monmouth and Ross On Wye, is to join the A40 Dual Carriageway and just North East of the village of Whitchurch, leave the Dual Carriageway and follow the signs to Goodrich via the B4229. The road meanders along the banks of the Wye for about a mile, then one needs to turn off right by a lodge onto an unclassified road, which after a short stretch crosses via a narrow bridge over the river Wye. From this bridge, travel for about one and three quarter miles past Huntsham Court on left with its high stone walls, you commence to enter a wooded section which begins to climb. Ignore road off to the right to the Saracens Head and Symonds Yat East, continue along the main lane which has several parking places. After passing a small chapel on left the cottage is the next property on the left. From Coleford direction, follow initially the B4228 towards Christchurch and English Bicknor, crossing over the A4136 en route. In Christchurch fork left onto the B4432 and follow the road through Hillersland, keeping Forestry Commission land on left. At Symonds Yat Rock pass beneath bridge and follow lane downhill. The Cottage is third on the right.
