Twenty two years ago we were searching for a holiday home in Shanklin where I grew up as a child before setting off to travel and explore the world. We work abroad and this has been a perfect place to come home to during half-term breaks and those long summer holidays with the children. I have also let the cottage out in summer as a holiday rental – I was very surprised at the amount of revenue it brought in.! It has been wonderful here, easy to keep, economical to run and with a great size courtyard which was enjoyed many times for gatherings with no grass to cut!
