Full Details for 3 Bedroom Detached for sale in Isle of Tiree, PA77 :
Property description
Windsong was constructed in 2004 and is a fully insulated, modern house, designed in the ‘Blackhouse’ style of the island.
It has been used as a private holiday home since it was built and has been lovingly developed and cared for over the years. It is in excellent condition and sits in a quarter of an acre plot overlooking Balephetrish Beach. It faces North and has magnificent views out to the other islands in the group.
The Bay is a well protected by the curve of the land and is populated by many wading birds, gulls and seals, and on one occasion 22 Basking Sharks (see picture in gallery).
At the rear there are fine views to the South towards the airport and in the Spring Corncrakes are regular visitors to the surrounding fields. There is a decked sun trap protected from the winds for relaxing.
The property has been Quarry tiled on the ground floor and there is underfloor electric heating plus a multi fuel stove in the Lounge. It also benefits from being recently decorated throughout.
It has hardwood, double glazed windows on the ground floor and double glazed Velux windows on the first floor.
The ‘Boat Shed’ was added in 2011 and is a self contained annexe with sea views. It was built as fully insulated, additional accommodation and has an en-suite shower room with a wash basin and toilet. At the moment it is used as a utility/laundry room and storage area but it could easily be turned into additional accommodation. It would also be possible to link this area to the main house by creating a doorway into the Lounge.
If required there would be an opportunity to purchase the majority of the furniture shown in these pictures at a very reasonable price.
Tiree is one of the gems of the Inner Hebrides with a wealth of golden beaches and spectacular views. It is approximately 13 miles long and 3 miles wide. The land is mainly crofted with sheep and cattle and in the Spring the ‘machair’, which is now very rare, is a glorious carpet of flowers.
It is well served by a daily CalMac ferry service and also daily flights from Oban and Glasgow. There is a six-year secondary school, a Co-op store, a Bank, Doctor’s Surgery, Post Office and a Vet as well as numerous other small businesses.
It is a Mecca for watersports enthusiasts, birdwatchers and is a popular tourist destination. There is excellent information to be obtained from the website
Note that the location shown on the Google map is incorrect and the property is actually much nearer the coast and in the centre of the bay.
